Day Two (afternoon): Ta Keo, Ta Prohm & Banteay Kdei

Ta Keo

After resting within the confines of Angkor Thom, we headed out of Angkor Thom for Ta Keo together with Shi-Ta-Ke San... Sean and I on my tuk-tuk and Shi-Ta-Ke on his motodup. From afar, it looks like a towering hill. Altho this sandstone temple is according to the guide "plainly decorated", it was awesome to climb up and down this temple...

Ta Keo... stairway to heaven!

Ta Prohm

Entry into Ta Prohm... a must-see temple

We spent at least an hour here... apparently this is the shooting location for one of the scenes in the 1st Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie starring Angelina Jolie. Correction... actually it is; I have confirmed some of the following pictures I took with the movie itself... awesome!

In Tomb Raider, a kid was seen running thru the corridors...

The Tree of Life... giving life to Ta Prohm

... yet another scene from Tomb Raider that I found in Ta Prohm

Another part of Ta Prohm, part of which is in ruins...

This temple is one of the temples where the tree-of-life are part of the temple structures; some of them actually keep the structure together. Amazing views here... a lot of rubbles and ruins but is definitely worth spending more time here.

Banteay Kdei

Last attraction for the day, Banteay Kdei. A lot of rubble and for the most part, the restoration was not evident. I managed to get a photo of an almost perfect lion statue, the others that we saw earlier on were either defaced, without a face OR even beheaded!!!

Shi-Ta-Ke San and me amidst the rubbles of Banteay Kdei

An almost perfect lion statue...

At this point, we were kinda tired... so didn't hop to Srah Srang which was just nearby.
